One of the goals of the site is to help young women find a positive image using a greater awareness of how they dress. Katelyn stresses there is too much media influence, and you can still dress stylish and modest.
This is a very interesting subject, and I encourage anyone inquisitive to check out her new website suddenlydarling.com where you will find fashion tips as well as other helpful advice on life's many curiosities.

San Diego's Gordana of Project Runway Season 6 appeared on the red carpet for the Emmys this past month in her hand dyed creation with four models in her couture Spring 2010 line. Her line was recently launched during Mercedes Benz Fashion week and will appear again in Los Angles on October 12.
I will be attending her LA fashion show so I must say I am particularly excited about her new line inspired by Lady of the Lake. If you have been keeping up with this season's Project Runway as I have, her talent and skill with fabrics is obvious and her vision is truly one of feminine elegance. Her designs are perfect for an incredible event that requires silky sophistication.

I must have been living under a rock during the last year... but the Plaza Bonita XXI (formerly Forever 21) is freakin' HUGE man. Not kidding around. It is the largest XXI in San Diego county. Comparable to the likes of San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The XXI is basically in the spot of the old Plaza Bonita FOOD COURT! I mean I like to eat... but I think I'd rather shop.
The guys' section is very impressive, just WOW:
Twelve by Twelve is a private label for XXI -- this line opened in 2007 and is aimed at 30 - somethings and is a little bit more sophisticated and more luxurious.
Faith 21 by XXI is a plus size line because all my big girls need something just as fab too!
And oh my goodness... no words... I have ran out of words... shooooeees...
I bought this denim looking faux leather jacket for under $40... I bought a similar one about two months ago at Nordys for over $200 and I am just kicking myself in the face now.
Anyway, I love XXI. xxoxooxoxoxoxoxooxo.

I am very impressed, you guys.
I haven't been to Plaza Bonita in years. Maybe 5 years. And wow. Talk about a major face lift. Target, Borders, AMC, MAC, H&M, Wet Seal, Windsor Fashions, a new XXI (formerly Forever 21), G by Guess, Charlotte Russe and some unique boutiques like Shimmer and Love Culture.
I am officially declaring Plaza Bonita Mall my favorite San Diego indoor mall !

I am not much of an EXPRESS shopper, except for work attire, buuuutttttttttttt... GUESS WHAT!!
You all know my obsession with leggings!! Buy in store as they are all marked down about 25% and then you get an extra 20% off all sale items!
Me love leggings.

I was at Plaza Bonita in National City today and noticed a fab new private label, Urban Vibe, at Wet Seal! It is funky, chic, and obviously urban! LOL. It reminds me of that East Coast flavor, just crazy fresh style, and it's here in San Diego!
So, did I mention that I am absolutely obsessed with Keri Hilson? Well she is the face and spokesmodel for Urban Vibe by Wet Seal and this really makes my year people. I don't have much to say except, watch this video and fall in love. xxoxooxoxoxoxoxooxoxooxoo.

Tonight was May*star Fashion Whore, I brought a camera along and shot some really cool photos of the event. I rushed home right after the show so I could upload photos of the event for those that couldn't make it out. Here's the short version: the band Little Red Radio killed it! Their music is awesome, they had such great energy. The music had everyone dancing. The fashion show was amazing! I was able to have a brief chat with Kenny King designer of Fit for a King. He was super nice and I loved his outfit.Check out the pictures below.
Model posing at the end of the runway.
Kenny King posing for my camera, his pants looked so hot!
Model posing in her colorful dress before the fashion show.
Model posing in her vintage dress from Hunt & Gather.
I also love her shoes, red satin so pretty.
The May*Star maven and models getting posed by a photographer.

Scarves date back to the ancient Romans who wore a linen kerchief called the sudarium (Latin for "sweat cloth"). They eventually developed the scarf into a diverse men's fashion accessory (talk about product development!!). The style was immediately adopted by women (naturally!).
With San Diego's legendary 75 degree Falls and 65 degree Winters, we obviously wear scarves for fashion rather than functionality (unless it is a very rare "cold" day hee hee hee). All of the above featured San Diegans are wearing thin scarves wrapped loosely around their necks or just draped.
There are dozens and dozens of different types of scarves and a dozen different ways to wear them! Soooooo my fave Fall accessory!
My newest scarf obsession? THE TUBE SCARF!!! Basically just a scarf where the ends are sewn together making a circle.
